Actual Marine Forecasting is the coastal modeling practice behind Actual Currents. It was founded by Luka Catipovic, PhD, who grew up in Woods Hole, Massachusetts and completed a PhD in Oceanography through the MIT-WHOI Joint Program.

The practice pairs research-grade coastal oceanography with production software engineering. Models are built, validated, and shipped by the same small team, from mesh generation through to the application in your pocket.
